Breakfast at Steakhouse 71
Our final Disney morning started with a quick pack up and checking out of our hotel before driving over to the Contemporary Resort for breakfast at Steakhouse 71. This was a first time visit and this was another meal that knocked my socks off (actually it was the bandages around my toe but you get the drift.)
Gluten-free pastries: blueberry muffin, chocolate chip muffin, cinnamon doughnut, frosted doughnut—all excellent.
Main course: Eggs Benedict (best I’ve ever had) and cheesy grits (creamy, perfect).
My overall rating of breakfast at Steakhouse 71: 5 out of 5 goats - 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
Heading Home & Lessons Learned
Our drive home ended up being quiet and peaceful much to my overstimulated mid and overall exhaustion. My foot needed rest—I couldn’t walk for 24/36 hours. Luckily, I have the best nurse cat ever, Pickles! Then a few days post-trip, I came down with COVID and Strep a little while after that, so this September became a test of endurance and a reminder that, I'm getting old! LOL
Key Lessons from this trip:
Keep your feet dry and always have fresh bandages for cuts or blisters.
Ask to be seated early for dinner if you’re hungry—they’ll usually say yes.
Quiet bathroom area to add to your list: Area to the right & behind Pinocchio Village Haus.
Behind the Seeds Tour = worth the money.
Skip Blizzard Beach if you can’t ride all slides—just not worth it.
While many things seemed to throw a wrench into our plans, everything ended up wonderful (even my toe recouped after a few days). I laughed, ate good food, had a meltdown or two, and made more magical memories with the person I love. Ultimately, that is what a vacation is all about for me.
Stay tuned for my next post on two amazing restaurants I was able to eat at during a weekend trip to Atlanta, Georgia.
What are some vacations you have taken that you really enjoyed with the ones you love? Please share in the comments!
