If you’ve ever tried to explain invisible disabilities to a stranger while also sweating through your magic band and trying not to cry in front of a cast member… hi. You’re not alone, and you need to know about Disney’s DAS—Disability Access Service.
The DAS is a tool that helps folks with disabilities (both visible and invisible) enjoy Disney parks without standing in long queues. And no—it’s not a front-of-the-line pass, it’s a fair access system that helps level the playing field. So let’s break it down like a ride pre-show:

What Exactly Is the DAS?
The DAS allows eligible guests to request return times for attractions instead of waiting in the physical line. DAS can help reduce stress, overstimulation, and physical strain.
✅ GOAT Summary: You wait your turn, just not in line.
What It’s NOT:
It is not a FastPass or Genie+ replacement
It is not a “disability free pass to skip everything”
It is not something to abuse or “get away with”
And let me be blunt: people who fake needing it are the reason it’s harder for those of us who do. So let’s keep it real and respectful.
Who Qualifies?
Disney's definition of who qualifies is, "DAS is intended to accommodate those Guests who, due to a developmental disability like autism or similar, are unable to wait in a conventional queue for an extended period of time." While Disney doesn’t publish a list of conditions, but DAS is generally offered to guests who:
Can’t wait in conventional queues due to cognitive, psychological, or medical reasons
Have anxiety, autism, ADHD, PTSD, chronic pain, sensory processing disorders, etc.
Can’t regulate body temp or manage symptoms in tight, loud spaces for long periods
🚨 Important: DAS is NOT granted for mobility impairments alone. If you use a wheelchair or scooter and are otherwise okay with lines, Disney will accommodate that without DAS.

How to Register for DAS
You MUST Pre-Register Online
Do this 30 to 2 days before your visit.
Visit Disney’s DAS page
Click “Request Live Chat” to talk with a cast member
Video chat required — the person who needs DAS must be present
Explain your needs clearly (no diagnosis needed, just impact)
Once approved, you’ll need to let the cast member take your photo and give them the dates of your visit and who will be part of your party.
✅ GOAT Tip: Do this in a quiet space on a laptop with a working camera and microphone. Be honest but clear. If you're not approved, ask the cast member what your options are.
Who Can Join You?
The person who qualifies must be present on the ride for others to use the DAS return time. Up to 3 guests can be linked to your DAS. (4 people total)
✅ GOAT Tip: Link your travel party in the app before Day 1 so you’re all good to go.
How DAS Works in the Park
Once you’re registered and approved:
Open the My Disney Experience app
Find your desired ride
Select “Request DAS Return Time”
You’ll get a return window (ex: “Come back between 2:00–2:45 PM”)
Tap in like Genie+ when it’s time
Ride. Repeat.
You can only have one active DAS return time at a time. Once you use it, you can get another.

Can I Still Use Genie+ or Lightning Lane?
Yes! DAS works alongside those tools. So if you want to buy Genie+ and stack it with DAS returns—go for it. Just don’t expect the app to magically juggle it all.
Pro Tips for a Smooth DAS Day:
Use DAS for high-demand rides early (ex. Peter Pan, Remy, or Slinky Dog)
Use indoor shows, shopping or mobile order meals between return windows
If sensory issues are a factor, pack earplugs, fidget items, and sunglasses
If you’re overheating or overwhelmed, find a First Aid center or Baby Care Center—they are heaven on earth when you need a break
The Peachy GOAT Reminder:
You are not a burden. You are not “cheating the system.” You are a paying guest like everyone else, and you deserve to experience Disney magic in a way that’s safe and sustainable for your body and mind.
Let DAS work for you, and never let anyone make you feel guilty for needing support.
