Whether you cruise through the parks in a scooter, power chair, or pushing a stroller converted into a wheelchair, Disney can be one of the most mobility-friendly travel destinations—if you plan ahead and know what you’re rolling into.
This guide is your no-nonsense, real-talk breakdown of navigating Disney with mobility aids. Let’s roll!
What Disney Gets Right About Accessibility
Disney has set the standard for theme park accessibility. Most attractions, transportation, shows, restrooms, and restaurants are built to accommodate guests using mobility devices.
✅ Most rides have wheelchair-accessible queues
✅ You can bring your own mobility device or rent one
✅ There are cast members trained to assist (and most are fabulous)
✅ Accessibility maps are available online and in the app
But just because it’s possible doesn’t mean it’s always easy.
Scooter, Wheelchair, or Stroller-as-Wheelchair?
Let’s talk options:
Bring Your Own
This is ideal if you already own a chair or scooter you’re comfy in. Bonus: no rental fees, and you know how it handles.
Rent from Disney
$65/day for an ECV (electric convenience vehicle)
$12/day for a standard wheelchair Downsides? You can’t take it outside the park. So you’re on your own at the hotel, buses, and Disney Springs.
Rent from a Third Party (GOAT Recommended)
Companies like Scootaround and Gold Mobility will deliver right to your hotel. These rentals are usually cheaper, comfier, and yours 24/7.
✅ Peachy GOAT Pick: Gold Mobility Scooters – cup holders, headlights, USB chargers, and better battery life. Because if I’m rolling around EPCOT all day, I want a throne on wheels.

Ride Accessibility: Will I Have to Transfer?
Every ride is different. Here's the tea:
✅ Stay-in-Your-Wheels Rides:
It’s a Small World
Jungle Cruise
Navi River Journey
Spaceship Earth
Kilimanjaro Safaris (with special ride vehicle)
Some shows and transportation
🔁 Transfer Rides:
Haunted Mansion
Pirates of the Caribbean
Rise of the Resistance
Most thrill rides
Some transfers are super awkward. Know your limits, and don’t be afraid to skip it or ask for assistance.
📝 GOAT Tip: Use the My Disney Experience App to filter attractions by accessibility needs or grab a guide from Guest Relations when you enter.
Getting Around the World (Literally)
Disney Transportation Options:
Buses: All Disney buses are lift-equipped. You may have to wait for the next one if the accessible spot is full.
Boats: Some are accessible, some are NOT (looking at you, Magic Kingdom resort launches).
Monorail: Totally accessible. Smooth, air-conditioned, and fast.
Skyliner: Wheelchairs and scooters can roll right on—no transfer needed.
Pro Tip: If you’re staying at a resort with only bus service, give yourself extra time. Wheelchair boarding takes a few minutes, and there may be a line.

Survival Tips for Wheels in the Parks
Bring a portable fan or cooling towel. You’ll be out in the sun a LOT.
Use a scooter sun shade or umbrella if you’re sensitive to heat.
Pack a power bank if your scooter doesn’t have one built in.
Charge overnight, every night. Do not risk rolling a dead battery at 3 PM.
Scout charging outlets in each park—there are a few if you’re in a pinch.
Dealing with Crowds & Etiquette
People WILL cut in front of you, lean on your scooter, or act like you’re in their way. Don’t let it steal your joy. Just keep on rolling. Your presence in the parks is valid. Full stop.
The Peachy GOAT Takeaway:
Using a mobility aid doesn’t limit the magic—it helps you access it with less pain, more joy, and more space for churros.
Whether you’re a full-time wheelchair user, walking-challenged warrior, or just need support to make it through a 10-hour Disney day, this guide is your permission slip to ride like royalty.
